First half was good, second half sucked. Good history on his early life. But then it became all the standard cliches like falling while walking, can't open a door, incompetent police, etc. Girl was ok I guess, but all she did for at least 20 min was cry and scream...it got old fast. Jaime Lee at least wasn't a feeble wreck. Won't watch sequel as preview is even more of her screaming and crying throughout. Edit: watched original again..this one is such a bad copy of it. Beginning was great addition. Ending was just a screaming, crying, whiny mess.

This was a good remake. A lot of people disagree I'm sure. And Rob Zombie always has to much gore & messy bloody scenes in all his movies. But except for the 1978 original, this is my 2nd favorite Halloween movie so far for sure.

Just rented and saw it for the first time. And I really liked it, especially compared to the original. It brought the concept into the current time frame and social outlook. Michael Myers motivations being explored made more sense than the formless and evil Boogy man from Carpenter's vision done when the genre was a clean slate. As for criticism that after the first segment the film is unoriginal or boring, I have no clue what movie they were watching. Rob Zombie's movie I felt was fresh and entertaining.
