This film was, in my opinion, lifeless. The dialogue was some of the worst (most unrealistic) I've heard in a while. In fact, all of the writing was terrible. The ONLY things about this movie that weren't completely awful were Jamie Lee Curtis and the score. Even Judy Greer was bad, and I've seen her give good performances in other things... which brings me to my biggest issue - the directing. What a boring, visionless way to shoot a horror film. Boring characters, boring villain, boring shot composition with no tension building, nothing felt genuine, character dialogue and interactions were unrealistic and cheesy. I expected so much more considering people were talking it up, but wow, this was beyond bad, this was a terrible film. 0 stars really.

DON'T BUY THIS JUNK Don't waste money and the time. It is a total junk, lame logic. 1- A whole Police team can't kill a single Boogeyman, but the Boogeyman walking in the street. 2- The Boogeyman can't be killed? until you keep him on fire! LoL 3- The Boogeyman chasing the girl Allyson in a road. There was a cop car 25 feet's far from her. But she run in the woods and watching if the Boogeyman is coming for her. Shame Director shame! So much more lame thing is in the movie. SO DONT BUY IT!

With the 40yrs later gimmick + casting JLC & being directly connected to the best of them, the original Halloween. I thought it was gonna be good. And I know people r gonna copy that idea instead of doing remakes. Just like a lot of movies copied the origin style of Batman Begins. Huge difference between those movies obviously. Just saying the 40yrs later is a good new idea but they didn't do it quite right & I was pretty bummed on this movie!
