About this movie

Set against the backdrop of a UNSC military academy, a group of highborn cadets are training to be the next generation of soldiers in the UNSC’s ongoing war with insurrectionists in the outer colonial planets. Among these cadets, Thomas Lasky struggles with his doubts about this war, and with the burden of expectations he may not be able to carry. As Lasky comes to terms with his potential as a military leader, the terrifying alien alliance known as the Covenant arrives and turns his world upside down. Inspired by the Master Chief, he must decide what it means to be a hero.

I would say this movie is amazing. If some people think this is not the point, then hear me out. If remember correctly, Captain Thomas Lasky remember Master Chief doing Halo 4 game. This movie is before they met, many years ago before he was made captain. The cadets were being trained, and thought they were gonna fight insurgency in the future. Now discovered a new threat. Course now they have to work together and fight to survive. Once you understand the movie and Halo 4 of where Thomas and 117 finally meet again, you will understand. Well if you can...

I am a avid Halo fan. I have played and beat all Halo games. This is a low budget movie with up and coming actors. They did a very good job. Yes it was a bit slow, but I think it gave a good glimpse of what military life would be like on the brink of war and at war. I don't own the movie but saw it on Netflix. I would recommend for rental and/or purchase. I really don't see how you can be a Halo fan and give this movie less than 4 stars. It followed the theme of Halo very well.

This is a story set in the Halo Universe, a flashback story not about Master Chief. Let's face it, in that universe most of us would be grunts as well. We know Chief's story, but what about the marines and officers leading up to the arrival of the Covenant. I liked it. Originally this was released individually as webisodes so there are breaks. If you like good story, is is good. If you want to see 117, play the games.
