About this movie

Seven years have passed since Dr. Hannibal Lecter and FBI agent Clarice Starling met in a maximum security prison for the criminally insane. The doctor, having escaped, is now at large, living in Europe and taking advantage of an ungaurded world, unaware that his past has caught up with him. His sixth victim, Mason Verger, though hideously disfigured, has survived and is now out for revenge, using as bait someone Lecter cannot resist: Clarice Starling. (Original Title - Hannibal)

Sir. Ridley Scott clearly understands animal behaviour and how predatory red in tooth and claw it can be, so he's the perfect director to understand why and how Hannibal Lekctor performs such horrific acts. Julianne Moore and Sir. Anthony Hopkins have great fun enjoying their scenes together and I much prefer Hannibal (2001)'s ending to that of Thomas Harris' original novel.

So good It inspired me to revisit SOTL and give Red Dragon a watch! Although I found this instalment the most gruesome and gory it rare that a movie encapsulated me this much! Worth every penny :)

Ridley Scott is such a great director. Captures the tone of the book perfectly. Anthony Hopkins excels as Hanibal Letcter. And Julianne Moore does a very good job of replacing Jodie Foster.
