About this movie

Harmontown is a documentary film starring TV writer and producer Dan Harmon (NBC's "Community", Adult Swim’s “Rick and Morty”) as he takes his popular podcast of the same name on a calamitous cross-country tour. Much more than a comedy-tour documentary, the film directed by Neil Berkeley, uncovers Harmon’s public persona to reveal his complex character and his equally complex personal relationships. Supporting cast includes Jeff B. Davis ("Whose Line is it Anyway?"), Erin McGathy ("This Feels Terrible") and Spencer Crittenden.

Not sure how well this movie would play to a non-Dan Harmon/Harmontown fan, but as one, this was a fantastic look into the man. Fantastically shot, and a good look into exactly what makes the man who he is.

Doesn't matter if you're a devoted Harmenian or Community fan or enjoy internet Rick and Morty circlejerks, this story about a guy who's biggest enemy is himself penetrates the facade people put up to protect themselves from vulnerability. Watching this film is a glimpse into the experiential palette of life (insert serial comma list of elements of life here). It's got it. I could bullshit forever on how raw and true this work is but bottom line is, yes watch it.

This documentary shines a light on Dan Harmon's personal life and the miraculous effect of the Harmontown Podcast on bringing together misfits from all around America. The documentary is well worth a watch if you love Dan Harmon or any of his work, or if your just a misfit looking for something tailored to you.
