In the words of J.D., "Westerburg is society." You've got all the stereotypes, but when you look below the surface you see they're all just trying to fit in to survive, even Heather Chandler. Then you have the adults who are so oblivious and self absorbed that they only notice the surface when it smacks them in the face. I could write a thesis on this movie. If you don't want to look that deep, it's an epitome of gen x very dark comedy. It made Christian Slater a teen idol.

The way I see the movie Heathers is a film making fun of all the stupid/unneccacary stereotypes and problems we have in society and it really shows how useless those are while also showing how being young isnt all fun and games and still comes with problems but sometimes adults just brush it off like veronicas parents and the teachers. Overall the film was dark in a really funny way and I really enjoyed it. 5 stars 100% one of my favorites.

I adore this movie. Considering it was made in the 80's it's definitely got a better plot than modern day. Most romances in modern day era usually end up happy and don't focus on the dark and messed up side of the world and of teenagers, this why I love this move so much. I was led to the movie from the musical sound track called, "Meant to be Yours" which is why I also adore JD.
