I found the songs imposed on the storyline at the beginning to be intrusive and overbearing. I felt like I was watching a music video instead of a movie. After a while, because of the quirky atmosphere I wondered if I was watching a Coen brothers film, especially when I recognized 2 of the actors from a well known previous film of theirs, also because the Texas location seemed to be one of the characters, so to speak. Lesser actors would not have done justice to the film.

I love westerns, but couldn't get into this. It's well made, but the wishy washy political vibe this gave off left me cold. I had no sympathy for the main characters at all, but also felt no joy in seeing them stick it to the bank either. Not one for Libertarians, I guess.

Recently discovered this and really enjoyed it. It is slow in parts but necessary for the story, which is solid and believable, especially if you have been down south. Check it out
