Hellboy is back, and he's on fire. From the pages of Mike Mignola's seminal work, this action-packed story sees the legendary half-demon [David Harbour] called to the English countryside to battle a trio of rampaging giants. There he discovers The Blood Queen, Nimue [Milla Jovovich], a resurrected ancient sorceress thirsting to avenge a past betrayal. Suddenly caught in a clash between the supernatural and the human, Hellboy is now hell-bent on stopping Nimue without triggering the end of the world.

I purchased this title on December 27, 2019 on sale and have never been able to view my purchase. It has been removed from my library & I was not offered any form of refund or compensation. I have received no communication on the matter. I own over 500 Google play digital titles & the handling of this situation is making reconsider any further purchases. Update: After 2 hours, I was refunded the sale price of the title. This title is no longer on sale, so the refund does not make me whole.

The Critic would sum it up in two words: "eeet STINKS!" I thought I was getting the original version, not some lame rebooted variant. I tried viewing it but only managed to watch about a half an hour, till I got so disgusted by this complete production of festering putrid garbage. Stopped it and deleted it from my Google account. The only way to watch the original seems to be by DVD if you can find a copy. We all buy worthless stuff eventually.

I really wanted to like it. Everybody is very much game for this reboot, but David Harbour is no Ron Perlman when it comes to the role of Hellboy, and that is unfortunate. The violence and gore only seem to be there to encourage people to watch it. The action is just so blah, there was honestly only one scene that was remotely memorable. Major disappointment, but if you can put your expectations on the back burner, not a terrible way to waste 2 hours.
