IN CINEMAS NOW Hellboy is back, and he’s on fire. From the pages of Mike Mignola’s seminal work, this action-packed story sees the legendary half-demon superhero (David Harbour) called to the English countryside to battle a trio of rampaging giants. There he discovers The Blood Queen, Nimue (Milla Jovovich), a resurrected ancient sorceress thirsting to avenge a past betrayal.

Being a Helboy fan oh how I wanted to like this film.. Take away Del Torros first 2 films, his attention to detail, tip top SFX and judge this as a completely new hero... Its dreadful, the script is all over the place, the side kicks a cat thing and a vision are awful, SFX(baby hellboy is just soooo badly done) are a joke and a finger up to the source material.. Hellboy himself lacks the charisma of Ron Pearlman and is just Hopper from stranger things painted red. Very, very disappointing

Just plain gory fun. I am going on record, these negative Hellboy reviews I've been reading/watching aren't just unfounded, they're also plain nasty. I'm not sure where this trend of hating on it stems from exactly but what I can tell you is I grinned for the entirety of my viewing. Ron Pearlman's Hellboy may have been the first, but this film is far far more loyal to core of the character and the world he lives in. They manage to pack in a buttload of lore that serves the narrative. Also, it's plain fun, like stupidly, wonderfully blood and viscera spackled fun. It's a horror fan's wet dream. Just go watch the thing, crack open a cold one, and enjoy the ride.

i only give it 3 stars as it has mo from eastenders and alice from resident evil. The biggest dissapointment for me was hellboy himself the new actor sucks big time, why not get the original red back, thank you for ruining my fav films by making a new one and using a different actor for big red
