Hellboy is terug, vuriger dan ooit. Gebaseerd op Mike Mignola's iconische werk, brengt dit actierijke verhaal de legendarische half-demon/superheld (David Harbour, "Stranger Things") naar het Engelse platteland om het op te nemen tegen een drietal verwoestende giganten. Daar ontmoet hij The Blood Queen, Nimue (Milla Jovovich, van de Resident Evil reeks), een herrezen, eeuwenoude tovenares die een lang vervlogen verraad wil wreken. Ineens bevindt Hellboy zich in een veldslag tussen het bovennatuurlijke en het menselijke en moet hij al zijn 'helse' krachten aanwenden zonder daarbij het einde van de wereld te veroorzaken...

Avoid this movie, just watch the original 2 by Guillermo del Toro. This has no charm whatsoever. It tries way to hard to be edgy with tons of unnecessary gore. The story is what you get when you throw every kinda interesting storyline and just put them all together. This makes the movie's story an incoherent mess.

Much less campy than the original movies, but I am delighted with the darker approach. A few story pieces seemed mashed together as if they were paragraphs in a term paper that you forgot to mention and now have to cleverly work into your thesis.

Sorry but this cast sucks! I'm sticking with the originals. Also worth mentioning, there's also an animated Hellboy movie (2 stories incl. Bonus). Very much worth watching!
