It's summer in New York City and Andre is shooting a documentary about graffiti. Later that night, he meets his four best friends at a party. When one of them, Sarah, leaves without saying goodbye, the others are forced to deal with an ensuing unexplained tragedy by retracing her steps that night. Their search takes them through the streets of the East Village to after-hours clubs and a drug dealer's crib. Each of the friends struggles with the tragedy differently. Andre turns to drugs to dull his pain; Jo, in denial, seeks solace in random hook ups; Sophia, paralyzed by fear, can't even get out of bed and James, consumed by guilt, unleashes his anger on the others. They all blame each other and their guilt begins to eat away at their friendships. As Andre continues his downward spiral into drugs the others come together to save him. In the end, Andre finds solace by finishing his documentary, transforming it into a celebration of Sarah’s life.
