Über diesen Film

The incredible untold true story of Katherine Johnson (Taraji P. Henson), Dorothy Vaughan (Octavia Spencer) & Mary Jackson (Janelle Monae)—brilliant African-American women working at NASA, who served as the brains behind one of the greatest operations in history: the launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit. This stunning achievement galvanized the world and inspired generations to dream big.

The description for this movie is entirely inaccurate to history. They did not "serve as the brains" behind the mission. They were incredibly brilliant, more so than most people, but there were many others that made the launch a success. To credit just them is absurd. It began hundreds of years ago with Isaac Newton giving is the fundamental understanding of gravity that we have today.

This movie is a must see for everyone. It shows strength and determination, no matter what obstacles you face. Although, I didn't see it on the phone, I did see it on TV. The women who portrayed the women of NASA were spectacular and my hats go off to the producers and directors. I hope we get a chance to see more history made movies that shows the contribution of Black Americans and Native Americans, and other Nationalities that makes up this country called the United States of America. 💛🦅

A good story suffers in the face of a white savior subplot. Especially a fictional one, portraying the accomplishments of these extraordinary women as otherwise impossible had a non-existent white man performed some act of kindness which never happened in reality. It sends the wrong message for the simple sake of pandering to white audiences and to get noticed at by the Oscar's.
