Academy Award® winner Robert De Niro stars in this thrilling suspense drama as David Callaway, a troubled father and widower, and Dakota Fanning portrays his young daughter Emily, who is hiding an incredible secret. Father and daughter move to up-state New York after Callaway's wife dies suddenly. Soon thereafter, Emily develops a mysterious friendship with Charlie. At first David sees Charlie as a positive way for Emily to express herself, but a series of terrifying acts lead him to imagine the unimaginable: Charlie may actually be real... and if so, he must be stopped.

Not as bad as you heard. If you go in blind, you will be wondering "What the?" til the cool end.. adding more to the negative, is feeln all "uncomfyness" on why in the hell are they implying the Grown Men Townfolk are alllll PREverts?W/ Dialogue so obvious in unrestrained perviness in checking out this 10 year old girl? Like with "Perv#4: (GAWKIN at her & talking with DeNiro) "🥴Oh What a lovely young lady...yes sirrr .mm-mm-mm ..you sure have..Wheww..one *beautiful* daughter, lordy."🤤 ..🤨

I have watched this movie on a DVD with the alternate endings. Dakota Fanning is capable to scare you when she is wearing the pale make-up and staring at you with a lifeless look! Whoever is going to watch this movie, please be prepared for the ending. One word to describe this movie - SICKENING!!!

I watched this movie today i really enjoyed it i thought robert de nerio and dakota f worked great together and it's a good thrillet flim with a good story good cast worth seeing
