About this movie

From the producer of AMERICAN PIE and the filmmakers behind the critically-acclaimed BREAKUP AT A WEDDING comes this refreshing coming-of-age comedy about finding love and the thrilling first moments of adulthood. When high school friends reunite over their first holiday break during college, they discover just how much they have changed while their town of Hollidaysburg has stayed the same. Within hours of his return, former prom king, Scott (Tobin Mitnick) is dumped by his now-depressive girlfriend, discovers his parents have sold his childhood home, and must prepare to say goodbye to his beloved town forever. Meanwhile, Scott's acquaintance and quasi “kid sister” Tori (Rachel Keller) is miserable because of a domineering best friend who she's outgrown, but can't seem to shake. When the events of the weekend throw Scott and Tori together, an unlikely romance blossoms. HOLLIDAYSBURG was featured on THE CHAIR, the Starz TV series that documents two directors as they adapt separate movies from the same screenplay.

I enjoyed watching both films AND the process; I truly think this was the better film. It was a slow start, but then the story unfolds quite nicely, and you are truly pulled it. WORTH it! I did watch shane's film too; it has it's audience but really needed more work . Unfortunately I felt the only reason his won was the # of votes because of his previous web show. Still, for both, as first-time directors-kudos. I hope to see more of Anna's films. (Read: I REALLY hope to see more) Good job!

Wonderful story of going home after that first time you left for college. And returning home again for that first Holliday break winter back to your home town. A time sit with your old buddies reflection on days past and set your new course in stone for the college future goals you're making an a brief visit home confirms your new calling in life. A first breath look at a subject matter no film has done before like this movie director had with great understanding and captured uniquely on film.

Anna took a much better approach to this movie than Shane, and I hope she is rewarded for it, though I am certain that a larger fan base will doom her chances, regardless of quality. The main problem I had with this film is that it felt a little long, and I had trouble telling Tori and Heather apart in some scenes, as they looked too similar.
