Ruth is a young woman of iconic beauty who senses something is missing in her life. Disillusioned with her lifestyle and its suburban offerings, she travels to India where she is touched by a Guru. While she finds a sense of peace there, Ruth's family is alarmed and decides to "reclaim" her using the paid services of American Exit Counsellor, PJ Waters. "Three little steps", he says, and "it could all be over in twenty-four hours." Two days later, as the battle ground shifts from religion to sex, a reversal of power takes place.
