At a prestigious South African school, Melea and her boyfriend imagine a hip-hop version of Romeo and Juliet, but Melea's dreams are dashed when she's unable to pay tuition and is forced to leave. Determined to fulfill her destiny, she does the unthinkable – persuades the community to support her artistic and unique vision. When adrenaline-filled rehearsals cause dance crew rivals and egos to get in the way, everything falls apart. I really enjoyed this movie even though I caught it in the middle. I love how it depicted poor South African neighbourhoods as well as relatable characters. It wasn't one of those where the characters are rich and live in the city and opportunities are there. Was really happy to see African faces on screen as well as the Cape Town scenery. The dancing is honestly incredible. For a 2016 film it was amazing and I recommend it if you love dancing and are passionate about the arts. Sound track is also golden. A must watch if you haven't already.
