Dakota Fanning plays a spirited young girl in 1950s rural Alabama, who struggles to rise above the repression that surrounds her. She finds comfort and safety, as well as a place to put her hurt and rage, in the music of Elvis Presley, but it will be her own voice that gives her the strength and courage to walk away from her past and into her future.

This was perhaps one of the biggest wastes of my time recently... Not only was this boring, it was horribly misrepresentative and full of bad characters without any real sense of story or conclusion. I wish I could have my money and mostly my time back.

loved it. the scene everyone gets fussy about doesnt show anything and it's very quick. this movie shows the life of a little girl who loves rock and roll! good movie!

Dakota fanning is wonderful actress however not in this role.
