In this heartwarming story about listening to your heart, Winona Ryder stars as Finn, a graduate student who decides to spend a summer away from her boyfriend at the home of her grandmother (Ellen Burstyn) and great aunt (Anne Bancroft). But Finn's plans to finish her thesis and mull over a marriage proposal are quickly pushed aside in favor of listening to the ladies of her grandmother's quilting circle, as they reveal the loves and losses that shaped their own lives. At first, I wasn't sure if I would enjoy a movie about quilts. But I love Winona Ryder and it had such an amazing cast that I decided to power through to the end. I'm really glad I did, because it's now one of my favorite movies to watch during the Summer. In addition, watching this movie has given me new inspiration to finally make a quilt from a project (I may have started back in high school.) .. If you want to binge on a feel-good movie while doing a craft, I highly recommend this movie!

From the actors to the author(s?) & screenwrites, pace of storyline and character development his movie is so well done that it might just be (at least for it's time): The BEST CHICK FLICK ever, or at least in the top 20 since the 1990s. Take it from me, and I'm a guy! My girlfriend wanted to watch it after a date...I didn't know what to expect. I think I ended up liking it more than her.
