About this movie

If it's the Snow White tale you're looking for, discover the story that came before… Chris Hemsworth and Oscar-winner Charlize Theron return to their roles in the epic action-adventure The Huntsman: Winter's War, joined by Emily Blunt and Jessica Chastain. Theron stars as evil Queen Ravenna, who betrays her good sister Freya (Emily Blunt) with an unforgiveable act, freezing Freya's heart to love and unleashing in her an icy power she never knew she possessed. As war escalates between the two queens, Eric the Huntsman (Chris Hemsworth), and his forbidden lover, Sara (Jessica Chastain), must help Freya vanquish her sister… or Ravenna's wickedness will rule for eternity.

I liked it a heck of a lot better than the first one. Story was tighter, acting was better, and the action sequences were more fun even if they did slip into comic book action hero territory. But hey, when you have a perfectly good Thor in your movie, then you gotta use him. Only complaint was that Jessica Chastain's character's abilities were really inconsistent. Sometimes waaay over powered (I'm looking at you, bar scene ninja), and other times just as UNDERPOWERED.

I thought it finally explained why (Eric)The Huntsman, would do anything to get his wife back. As childern, growing up with the sister of Revena, they grew in love, and his fear she died because of his failure to brake the ice Queens wall. He is driven by his hate of Revena once again. This movie should of been no#1, And continued to understand his determination to kill Revena. Loved both stories, and movies. Great animation and special effects.

There was a looming feeling as if I had seen everything already in this film. The queen riding a polar bear (borrowed from Narnia) the frozen people in the castle entryway like collected chess pieces (Narnia) The frozen queen leaving to build her own castle and kingdom (Frozen) throwing ice around (frozen) the gold queen hiding herself into the mirror being in between life and death (Harry Potter horcruxes) the fairies in the garden sanctuary helping them with animals to ride (malificent)...disappointing.
