Dr. Ian Gray (Michael Pitt) is a molecular biologist studying the evolution of the eye, along with his lab partner, Karen (Brit Marling). After a tragic romance with an exotic young woman (Astrid Bergès-Frisbey), Ian’s analytical nature is put to the ultimate test, triggering a chain of events that leads to a stunning discovery years later...one that may unlock the greatest mysteries.

I Origins is an unusual movie in terms of genre and pacing, but not in a bad way. It's neither amazing nor terrible but saddles a solid middle-ground in terms of plot, character development and acting. Overall it's happy, sad, awkward, heart-breaking and touching all rolled into one. Well worth the watch.
