In the remote Westfjords of Iceland, a lady hangs herself inside a church. Her strange death leads to an investigation into a number of similar cases in the region. To his horror Freyr, the new psychiatrist in town, discovers the deceased woman was obsessed with the disappearance of his 7-year-old son who went missing without a trace three years earlier. Across the bay in an abandoned village, three city dwellers are restoring an old house when supernatural and inexplicable events start to occur. It becomes clear that the answer to both of these mysteries lie in the mysterious disappearance of a boy 60 years earlier. Slow burning Nordic noir, entertaining enough but addition of the supernatural is unnecessary and neither particularly scary nor shocking.
