Peter (Charlie Day) and Emma (Jenny Slate) thought they were on the precipice of life's biggest moments – marriage, kids, and houses in the suburbs – until their respective partners Anne (Gina Rodriguez) and Noah (Scott Eastwood) dumped them. In their thirties and terrified that they have missed their shot at happily ever after, Emma and Peter are horrified to learn that their partners have already moved on; Anne with Logan (Manny Jacinto) and Noah with Ginny (Clark Backo). Convinced that Anne and Noah are their soulmates, Peter and Emma hatch a hilarious plan to win them back with unexpected results.
