The edges of reality are blurred when a young man struggles to overcome the trauma of a broken relationship. Traversing the surreal landscape of Los Angeles on a daily quest to "do good things," Hunter encourages a raft of obscure new relationships throughout his daily routine. Set amongst the artistic backdrop of slam poetry, I Wrote This For You explores a young man's desire to find courage, face challenges and discover the universal quest for hope.

This is us put together in a movie to remind me of the damage I've caused to the only man i have ever loved as truly, madly and deeply as i do all because of my insecurities and self-doubt. I guess now....its my turn to suffer. I miss him so much the pain has become unbearable.... I love you Daddy more than you'll ever know. You will forever be my always.

The music is excellent. The imagery is enticing. The characters are well played. However, this movie fails to launch. Instead of something instructive, the viewer must painfully labor through the most tentative and self-hating protagonist who refuses to commit to anything for more than a few minutes, or a 24-hour period if the visiting character persists. The “slam poetry” is pedantic and doesn’t jive with the narrative and the final effort at self-love, is underwhelming and not believable.
