Based on the novel by James Baldwin, IF BEALE STREET COULD TALK, is the story of Tish, a newly engaged Harlem woman who races against the clock to prove her lover's innocence while carrying their first born child to term. It is a celebration of love told through the story of a young couple, their families and their lives, trying to bring about justice through love, for love and the promise of the American dream.

Read the thoroughly thought out reviews and gauge those off others to help. For me, this wad not Moonlight, but this a haunting and very moving movie. Regina King is well deserving of her Oscar here. The film's two yoyng leads were great here too. Worth watching with a great score. Ignore short, ignorance filled reviews coming short minded and ignorant people.

This is the movie to be seen by all. With an incredible cast; soul-stirring music; and a true-to-life narrative, I cannott help but give this film the glory it deserves. I actually shed tears when i first saw... the Trailer. And, although it did not receive unbiased critical review, "If Beale Street Could Talk" will be remembered as one of the greatest films in American history.

💤😴 Ended like a 1990s foreign film. Should have said "FIN" at the end. Seemed like it was going to be good then just got boring and then ended without making any sense. Good artsy cinematography, scenes, but ending was horrible.
