Acerca de esta película

Present day London: socially inept, exceptionally dull Minister Of International Development Simon Foster has caused outrage amongst his superiors and sparked a media frenzy by accidentally mentioning a possible attack on the Middle East. Rabid, ruthless, profane and relentless Director Of Communications Malcolm Tucker has been sent in to pull the right strings, immediately dispatching Foster on a "fact finding" trip to Washington. Increasingly out of his depth, Simon Foster suddenly finds himself thrown into an anarchic world of abusive peaceniks, unhinged warmongers, infantile bureaucrats and bickering, bullying interns. From the back gardens of Northampton to Washington's West Wing, rest assured it can only get worse. Directed by Armando Iannucci, the writer/producer of such comedy classics as The Day Today, I'm Alan Partridge and The Thick Of It, IN THE LOOP is an absolutely hilarious, instantly quotable modern satire on military madness and the pursuit of power.

It's 2003. Britain and America are marching towards war on an unnamed middle eastern state. Simon Foster is minister for international development - a trivial man who's more interested in feel-good initiatives in the third world than any serious business of government. And for what it's worth, serious business isn't much interested in Simon. But when a stray comment of Simon's implies the war is unforeseeable, all of a sudden he finds seriousness thrust upon him. Can he wing it long enough to make it his big break? If you've watched The Thick Of It, you'll know the format: a fast-paced comedy that hinges on creative takedowns, savage insults and the bathos of petty, insubstantial people flailing desperately to gain power. This is no West Wing: it is a world of only cynics, charlatans and cowards. Words are the currency on which this power is gained and lost: insults are how individuals establish their supremacy, but one word leaked to the wrong person can bring the whole edifice of government crashing down...
