How could anyone have watched this at a studio and turned around to the rest of the studio execs and said "more kids on a bus, less actual plot." The jokes weren't funny, the acting was abysmal, don't even get me started on the actual science behind landing a moon sized spaceship on a planet, and it looks like they ran out of budget for green screen at the end. I don't even know why they added half of these characters that had such terrible one liners and no background story whatsoever. Don't even rent.

The script was a rehash of the first movie. The audience laughed when the alien queen chased a bus full of kids through the salt flats. It's confusing, the jokes aren't funny, so much didn't make sense. I was so excited to see the remake and almost asked for my money back upon leaving. Save your money, this will be free on Netflix in two months.

It's like the first movie, but more convoluted. If you want action, it does pretty well. If you want to scratch your head and ask questions like, "If the queen is so smart, why does she..." or, "If it's known the aliens can get in your head, doesn't that actually make you the LEAST qualified person for the job?" I mean, I guess the first movie did involve a magic computer virus screwing with the aliens' stuff so maybe this one does fit well!
