This was by far one of the worst movies I have ever seen. They took a bad script, washed up actors, the ugly Hemsworth, and slapped a great movie title on it in hopes that poor suckers (like me) would feel nostalgic and buy it.....but please don't waste your money wait for to come out for free somewhere

No Will Smith, Goldblum's part too small & Pullman's lines anemic. Terrible new Millennial cast. Atrocious soundtrack that proverbially defacates on David Arnold's original masterpiece. Barely 2 minutes of disaster p0rn but then again Director Emmerich has both rebirthed & killed that genre. Uninspired new alien boss & craft design. My favorite teenage movie has been utterly disgraced by this 20 years too late sequel. Some inner conflict amongst nations would have been more believable than this utopia. Rarely hit but mostly missed / forced humor. The only reason I bought this was out of blind devotion to the original. Only cause for 3rd star is some decent action & SFX.

Loved the original from my childhood. Sadly this sequel does not live up to the original. Then again most sequels don't. The director once again manages to cram too many stories and characters into the film. Aliens attack earth. We don't need 9 sub plots. Overall an ok popcorn flick.
