This film, is quite simply god awful. Aliens etc doesn't bother me in the sense that the previous outings had paranormal phenomena such as ghosts flying out of the Ark of the Covenant. What's poor about this film that the scenes are rendered unbelievable by the overuse of CGI and underuse of the practical effects that made the originals great. We have Indy surviving a nuclear explosion by hiding in a fridge, getting hurled about and emerging unscathed. Then there are flesh eating ants and Shea LaBeouf swinging through trees like Tarzan. On the note about Shea LaBeouf... no, just no... The other issue I have with this film is that it totally wasted the acting brilliance of John Hurt. For the majority of his screen time he's a crazed babbling idiot. At the end of the day, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade was a perfect conclusion to the story and Indy should have been left alone in peace thereafter. Personally I don't acknowledge this film as part of the Indiana Jones saga.

I don't understand how this has so many positive reviews. It fails on almost every level. Terrible, cartoony action sequences, uninteresting characters and a fridge that still makes me angry. Avoid.

People go out of their way to avoid buying this film. In some stores people will spend more money buying the first three films separately than they would if they just bought the boxset with all four films and threw this film away, but they do not even want to acknowledge this films existence, and that is because this film is spit in the face to Indiana Jones fans. Best avoided.
