Best horror movie I've ever seen... James wan did a amazing job on the movie and the make-up artist did a really good job on the lipstick demon and the other demons but the best part of it all was when they were doing the seance and dalton comes up behind them and with one smack everyone is on the ground... 5/5 stars for this movie.

I don't understand why this movie has such high reviews on Google. It has a 65% rotten tomatoes score and it shows. The acting is cheesy and unbelievable, every scare is some random jump with the volume dialed to 11, and the special effects, ghosts, etc. just look really corny. This is not a 4.4/5 movie, Chapter 3 and 4 are much scarier and have better acting and a more believable plot. Very disappointed with this film.

nowadays, most horror movies are filled with gore rather than actual horror. this movie is however different. the plot brings you onto the edge of your seat constantly wanting to know what will happen next. although you are afraid to look, you can't keep your eyes off the screen. this movie is so well played out that is represents a rather twisted suspense film, which is what horror movies truly are. it doesn't disgust you with gore, but scares you with it's twisted suspense. this is a true horror film.
