If, as many suspect, this is the last Iron Man film - excluding subsequent appearances in the Avengers sequels - they've delivered a good quality and highly enjoyable final installment for us. Robert Downey Jr keeps all the characteristics and humour we've come to know and love, with enough empathy to keep it from getting stale or one dimensional. Infinitely better than Iron Man 2, it's got a good story, some nicely developed supporting characters (old and new) and enough action to keep everyone happy.

I loved the first 2 films, and I didn't think that another one would come out so I was a bit disappointed. But when I saw the first ad, I was quite happy, though I didn't think it would be very good because I thought the suite couldn't be upgraded any more etc. but when I watched the film. I was amazed. The special effects are amazing, the story is very good, and the overall film, was a pleasure to watch and I hope there will be an IRON MAN 4. Though I doubt it. But again, I didn't think there would be a three. So you never know. My final words for this film is: It was well worth the three years it took to make it. 'Fantastic' is how I describe this film in one word. I strongly dis-agree with those who rated 1 star.

Overall a watchable film but certainly not up to the standard you would expect. The acting is excellent, it's more the story, which has some glaring inconsistencies of character without which there would be no film. My main point would be, why when expecting to be attacked, to the point of Tony living in his suit, would he choose to use a prototype which can't fly and hardly functions. Now if he had worn a suit that worked in the first place the whole film would have collapsed the plot is so feeble . We expect Iron Man to be able to takeout a helicopter with a gun.
