Soon after arriving to teach at a small town college, Abe Lucas (Joaquin Phoenix) gets involved with two women, Rita Richards (Parker Posey), a lonely professor who wants him to rescue her from her unhappy marriage; and Jill Pollard (Emma Stone), his best student, who becomes his closest friend. While Jill loves her boyfriend Roy (Jamie Blackley), she finds Abe's tortured, artistic personality and exotic past irresistible. Pure chance changes everything when Abe and Jill overhear a stranger's conversation and when Abe makes a profound choice, he is able to embrace life to the fullest again. But his decision sets off a chain of events that will affect him, Jill and Rita forever.

With Jauquine 'leaf' Pheonix .. Ill be back TODAY TO PROPERLY REVIEW THIS . but come on 1 film a year he makes , completely independently, and he commands star power and , well praise....I wanna see those numers climb at least as high as str8 outta Compton, shib I grew up in time in that city with all the trappings .. and im here touting woody Allen (again I might add) well that's all for now.... The previews made this movie look good. I was looking forward to seeing it. It was one of the worst movies I've seen in a long time and I could not even sit through the whole thing. Had to turn it off.

Will not watch any of Woody Allens films, a man with no values or morals, child molester, would never give my hard earned money to go into his pockets.
