Amazing stop motion movie, will keep you entertained beginning to end. A very simple story told in a very clever way. The attention to detail in this is insane, the animators should really be applauded for their work here.

A great movie which touched me deep, specially because it brought back memories from when I was living in my native land Iran. The extremist Islamic government there has pretty much the same approach towards pet dogs, since in their version of Islam dogs are considered to be religiously unclean. This is said to be due to the bad experience the Islamic invaders had a couple of thousand years ago with Persian dogs, when they conquered Persia. Backing up their inhumane cruelty by some pseudo-scientific myths about health problems caused by dogs, Iran's police either kills pet dogs on the spot wherever seen, or put them in very unhealthy dog detentions where they die or comeback (if they ever do) with multiple diseases, or the least degrades and fines dog owners.

A stylish and intricately assembled tale from a visionary film maker, Isle Of Dogs is at once comfort food for those who love the canine nation and cautionary tale about the deliberate cruelties we visit on animals under our thumb.
