Brahmdutt (Dilip Kumar), a rich steel baron is falsely convicted in the murder of his best friend and business partner Premchand (Shafi Inamdar). When in prison, Brahmdutt (Dilip Kumar) finds out from sources that his son in law Indrajeet (Raghuvaran) has conspired to get him caught so he can take over his empire. Brahmdutt (Dilip Kumar) avenges that once he is free he will take revenge from Indrajeet (Raghuvaran). To take revenge Brahmdutt (Dilip Kumar) is helped by Vijay (Govinda), Indrajeet's (Raghuvaran) own deserted son.
