An age-old war is reignited when a young farmhand unwittingly opens a gateway between our world and a fearsome race of giants. Unleashed on the Earth for the first time in centuries, the long-banished giants strive to reclaim the land they once lost, forcing the young man, Jack (Nicholas Hoult), into the battle of his life to stop them. Watched this recently, and would never recommend this to anyone. The plot holes are too many to count. The acting is okay. The action was terrible, if you were expecting a large battle, all I'm going to say is "tug-a-war". The giants were not believable and the whole thing was bad. Looking at how many comments are 5 star with barely completed sentences describing their opinion, I hope my synopsis has swayed anyone from watching this.

I'm sorry to say I watched like 25 minutes of it before I couldn't stand anymore. Horrible acting, (why are the English telling this story?) bad fxs and took too long moving through the story! Duh, we know how it ends but this movie drug it out! Arrgh!

It was pretty awful all the way around. Scripting, acting, animation, story line... I'm watching a Jack and the Beanstalk movie so I kinda know what I'm getting myself into (I expected a degree of bad-ness) but I was still surprised and, very much so, not in a good way. Growing up I loved the old SInbad the Sailor and Jason and the Argonauts type films so I assume that it's age that has tainted me. If I was 10 years old again I might have been able to enjoy it but as it is I just can't find a positive thing to say for it.
