À propos de ce film

Directed by Academy Award® winner Steven Spielberg, Jaws set the standard for edge-of-your seat suspense, quickly becoming a cultural phenomenon and forever changing the way audiences experience movies. When the seaside community of Amity finds itself under attack by a dangerous great white shark, the town's chief of police (Roy Scheider), a young marine biologist (Richard Dreyfuss) and a grizzled shark hunter (Robert Shaw) embark on a desperate quest to destroy the beast before it strikes again. Featuring an unforgettable score that evokes pure terror, Jaws remains one of the most influential and gripping adventures in motion picture history.

One of the best opening sequences ever. It may look a bit dated by today's standards, but after seeing the dull The Meg at the cinema today, I yearned for the day when my dad took me to see Jaws back in 1976. Jaws is up there in my top 10 movies because it has great characters (thankfully, much more likeable than in the book), perfect pacing, just the right amount of humour and one of the most iconic soundtracks ever. Even a rubber shark can't spoil the atmosphere the film generates.

The score, the suspense and build up and the incredible performances from the three main leads, make this one of the greatest blockbusters of all time. I have seen this so many times and it never gets old...even with the dated animatronic shark which is used sparingly it does not detract from what is an absolute beast of a movie

An absolute classic. Great cinema, captures a time in America that will be fondly remembered forever. Considering it was a mechanical shark, the actors made the movie. The settings, the ocean and even a real shooting star that SS has CGI'd into many of his later movies. Show me the way to go home....all the way to 1975.
