Even for a movie about children being forced to fight for survival by their government, this movie required too much suspension of disbelief. Inexplicable choices by the characters were key to keeping the plot moving. A couple of interesting characters and we didn't stop the movie early so not a complete loss... but close.

If you love the hunger games, you may love this. It really shows a great view into the early days, and does well to establish the antagonists of the originals descent. Though, some context felt better after knowing from the books. Its also a great reflection of the kind of games going on, behind the scenes of the games. A lot of great casting, some great Easter eggs and nods to series. If you liked it, read the book.
