John (Keanu Reeves), en före detta hitman, sörjer sin bortgångna fru. När Iosef Tarasov (Alfie Allen), rysk maffiakille och hans gäng bryter sig in i Johns hem för att stjäla hans eftertraktade Mustang, råkar de döda hunden som han fått av sin fru. John jagar de tre männen fast beslutad att döda dem. Men Tarasov far Viggo (Michael Nyqvist), en förmögen och hämningslös rysk maffiaboss, hämnas genom att skicka en lönnmördare efter honom. John träffar sin gamla kollega Marcus (Willem Dafoe), för att fullfölja sitt mål och riva ner Viggos imperium för gott.

Excellent story about grief masquerading as a revenge action movie. Add to that the fact that Keanu Reeves did all his own stunts in this movie. Yes, all the shooting, all the fighting, and all the driving. My only complaint is Michael Nyqvist's transparently Swedish accent. Although, many international Swedish actors have trouble shaking it, the exception maybe being Noomi Rapace.

If you like the "revenge" movie genre this is among the best. If you don't like seemingly mindless violence than you should not watch this.
