According to the actors this was one exhausting movie to make with an insane number of reshoots and it shows. This movie is a retelling of one of William Gibson's short stories and yes it does drag the story out. The film takes place in a dark future where corporations own governments and lives (imagine libertarianism running wild). Johnny is a cybernetically enhanced courier who deals in forbidden secrets. He's recruited by a group of scientists in China who work for Pharmakom one of the big pharmaceutical companies with it's own private army in the Yakuza led by an also cybernetically enhanced enforcer with a monomolecular whip built into his thumb and an old school Yakuza badass played by the very smooth Takeshi. The scientists are smuggling out data and the corporation wants it back as does an underground group of hackers. Despite some characters that could be interesting the movie plods along to it's conclusion as Johnny saves the world and learns about his lost past. The soundtrack is actually quite good but the worst thing about the movie is that it could have been so much better.

Such an underrated film, and an interesting one. I originally watched this in the January of 2021 again, as the film, and the original story takes place at that time. Real amazing, how they thought about how 2021 would be, and I guess they got something right, and I would say it would be the "Pandemic/Sickness". But in all honesty, a very interesting film, with a great cast especially with Ice T, and a young Keanu. Overall, great storyline, characters, and soundtrack added to it. It's worth watching, but you'd find how "interesting" this movie really is, literally. Kind of hard to describe this film, but as said it deserves its credit especially for a 1995 film, and worth a watch.
