I don't get what all the fuss was about I thought it would be better. It was slow and nothing really happened. I was bored and I so wanted to enjoy it. I like dc and joker i enjoy most animated movies like jl dark apocalypse. I enjoyed the snyder movies even though they got a bad rap I much preferred them than this. It's a shame its certainly different but just not my cup of tea. I'll give it another go hopefully I'll enjoy it more but I struggled the first time not sure if I can take it again.

just watched the joker, having waited for ages to see it. Have other people watched a different film?!! It was awful, staggeringly bad. The basic conception of taking a comic book character and making it real life is a bit perverse and just does not work. The film tries to remake taxi driver / king of comedy essentially, even going so far as to cast Robert de Niro! What we get is a lumbering, slow, predictable origin story not worthy of more than five minutes screen time, stretched out to two excruciating ours. oh the soundtrack though? rubbish. just rehashing other tunes, no atmosphere. And as for the acting performance that won every award... just another hollywood sycophancy job. they love actors who change their weight for a film, especially losing a lot. And JP has lost a lot, and DOES HE LOVE showing it. needlessly, in nearly every scene. and all he does is ham it up and overplay every single scene until you just can't bear it any more. no subtlety, just taking RDN from taxi driver, heath ledger from the joker and a bit of christian bale from american psycho and mixing them up. i kept waiting for sth to happen. oh the plot is him going crazy they say, but he was crazy from the start, that is well established? and the extreme violence is unhelpful and unnecessary. do not bother with this film i am shocked this was so successful, but america does love comic book films....

The whole point of the Joker is that he changes his backstory each time and we never really know what his past holds. We don't need his backstory. Another review highlighted the age difference between this 40-something Joker and 10 year old Bruce. So what's the plan, they never get entangled? This movie is slow, boring, lacking plot until the last 15mins and grossly overlong. A bit like Once Unpon a Time in Hollywood. I just don't see the point of this movie at all!
