Sinatra (Scott Glenn) and his adult son, Paul (Brendan Fraser), live on the edge of the law in the Brazilian urban jungle of Sao Paulo. They make a meager living running a brothel, but what profits they make Paul gambles away. When a customer dies on their premises, leaving behind a suitcase brimming with drugs, Sinatra sees a way to start a new life for his new wife and her young child. But his scheme quickly gets complicated when Paul sees the opportunity to take a calculated risk.
