Jennifer Lawrence stars in David O. Russell’s wild story of a family across four generations as Joy, a young woman who builds a business dynasty and becomes a matriarch. Allies become adversaries and adversaries become allies as Joy’s inner life and fierce imagination carry her through a world of unforgiving commerce in this emotional, human comedy also starring Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro.

I love J Law's performance as she portrays a strong woman with vulnerabilities. I thought the supporting cast was amazing, especially her mom, dad and ex husband. What I didn't like was the liberties taken on the actual true story in an attempt to create more drama. For example the sister and the patent issue. But I guess it's a drama so it needed to be in there. Overall it's OK. Worth it to watch if once.

C'est tordant et poignant comme je me reconnais dans Joy. Je recommande ce film à tous les entrepreneurs et surtout à toutes les entrepreneuses du Québec et d'Amérique. C'est sale les affaires des fois, mais c'est possible même avec des enfants.

The actors are top notch but the direction of the movie looses that real life feel. It sticks with you but sometimes you just want to shout at the horrible characters that make up her family.
