Rreth këtij filmi

From the director of The Lion King comes a new animated classic, based on one of the most beloved and bestselling books of all time, and brought to life by some of the most acclaimed animators from around the world. In a Mediterranean seaside village, Kamila (Salma Hayek) cleans house for exiled artist and poet Mustafa (Liam Neeson), but the more difficult job is keeping her free-spirited young daughter Almitra (Quvenzhané Wallis) out of trouble. The three embark on a journey meant to end with Mustafa's return home – but first they must evade the authorities who fear that the truth in his words will spark rebellion. Take a journey that critics call "gloriously uplifting and life-affirming" (IndieWire), "profound" (Variety), and "a celebration of life, freedom, and the human spirit" (The National). I recently heard a part of one of his poems told by a character on the show The Boondocks and the character who is name after the leader of the Black Panthers spoke Gilbran's words on pain because it was about losing an old friend but the way the word "Pain" was broken down just had me at awe! this movie from end to start it had awe from the art to the word that followed each scene. Kahlil Gibran work is truly brilliant. hopefully they make more beautiful animations of his wise words.

wonderful movie with a timeless message. leaves you speechless. based on the already deeply moving work of Gibran, the new take on the movie is just amazing. it speaks to everyone at many levels, to those who lived through harsh times or oppression especially. i would recommend reading the book too.

Beautiful and thought provoking. It had touches of humour and whimsy, and enough heartache to make it bittersweet. A lovely movie.
