My husband was sent here for 3 years, came home and about 1 year after that, I met him. We have been together for 13 years. It had been hell for about the first 7 years... He was emotionless, distant, and still doesn't talk much about it! He has scars on his back from the swats, he will not talk about God, wants nothing to do with him... Which breaks my heart! He did talk about the quiet room.... Apparently a kid tried to kill himself, by breaking the light and cutting his wrist... All they did was wrap his wrists, and make him clean it up. Horrible, awful AWFUL! I have never been so happy to come from a middle class family that couldn't afford to send me here!

this was a great documentary. I usually find these kinds of things boring, but it was more interesting then most big budget Hollywood films. Not only that but it evoked emotions in me I haven't seen in a while. For people who think this was just gay propaganda I think your missing the point that this isn't only happening to gay people and they aren't on the other side of the world. I feel like an idiot for just having to say something so obvious like that. If you want a nice tiny bubble cut off from reality don't watch this, if you want to learn things that might be hard to hear for the sheltered people that make the American populace then watch it.

Being gay is a sin! So sad that the world is shoving homosexuality down everyone's throat, saying u must be for it or ur a bad person. Wow people wake up.....a sin is a sin. Whether its liking the same sex, hating thy neighbor, lying, watching porn or gossiping. Its all the same. We are all sinners in need of a savior. This is how we know jesus is coming soon.... it says in the bible that in the end times "right will be wrong and wrong will be right".
