Set in Norway's infamous Bastøy Boys Home correctional facility, we follow the plight of seventeen-year-old Erling - rumoured to be a murderer. When Erling arrives at the facility, he immediately clashes with the sadistic governor (Stellan Skarsgård), who believes that manual labour, strict discipline and harsh punishment are the only successful methods for rehabilitating the boys.
