Has some great cinematography and some great fight scenes, however it is
plagued with inaccuracies and modern day morals applied to the past. For
example it shows that the Saracens were merciful wonderful people, that's
obviously not true, and it showed the Christians has maniacal murders. Also
not true. There is a very clear agenda at play here. I recommend searching
for "History Buffs Kingdom of Heaven on Youtube. He can explain it better
than I.

Great film, has everything you want in a film. I would have given it 5 stars if it was the Director's cut, as that is the best version. Shame Google Play don't offer the Director's cut as it adds so much to the story especially Sibilla's actions surrounding her son and why she makes Guy the king. Balian's character also gets greater depth, especially his background as an engineer (from a previous war) which explains why a blacksmith has 'sudden' knowledge of siege/tactics warfare. Perfect film.

If you've never seen this movie before, then you'll be fine. It's visually rich and dramatic. One of my favorite films, and one which I thought I'd add to my Android library. But... if you already know it, be warned - it has been butchered. Great chunks (no bishop and Godfery's relationship with the local lord) are missing from the opening section in France, which, it could be argued, did make the story a little slow to get underway. And there are little snippets (Reynald's death), and some large slashes (Sibylla's son doesn't exist!) missing all the way through, which DROVE ME MAD because I knew they were there in the original version, which is between 45-50 mins longer. So buy/watch it if it's your first time. Don't bother if you already know the movie in its full glory.
