I came into this film having only been familiar with its musical adaptation. I must say that some of the musical's most wonderful lines and moments spawn directly from this film's script! It's a powerful message of love, acceptance, and being yourself that can apply to all people: Ladies, gentlemen, and those who have yet to make up their minds. Absolutely wonderful and heartwarming from start to finish and a triumph in writing. While the musical numbers may drag (no pun intended) just a bit, everything else is absolute perfection.

This movie is so funny and also sad because of the bigotry of some people who are not by everybody's standard conforming to everybody's way of life but rather they choose to live their life according to their own ideas.

This is a good campy movie. If you like British humor or movies like The Full Monty, then you'll like this!
