A filmről

Acclaimed writer and director Rian Johnson (Brick, Looper, Star Wars: The Last Jedi) pays tribute to mystery mastermind Agatha Christie in KNIVES OUT, a fresh, modern-day murder mystery where everyone is a suspect. When renowned crime novelist Harlan Thrombey (Christopher Plummer) is found dead at his estate just after his 85th birthday, the inquisitive and debonair Detective Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) is mysteriously enlisted to investigate. From Harlan's dysfunctional family to his devoted staff, Blanc sifts through a web of red herrings and self-serving lies to uncover the truth behind Harlan's untimely death. With an all-star ensemble cast including Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Jamie Lee Curtis, Michael Shannon, Don Johnson, Toni Collette, LaKeith Stanfield, Katherine Langford and Jaeden Martell, KNIVES OUT is a fun, witty and stylish whodunit guaranteed to keep audiences guessing until the very end.

Thoroughly enjoyed watching this when I rented it out, and let me tell you that despite what these other reviewers are saying, it's a pretty damn good movie. Sure, it could be considered a boring, plagiaristic version of an Agatha Christie episode... if you'd never seen an Agatha Christie episode, and I say this as someone who's had childhood memories watching them with my grandmother growing up. I loved Craig's performance and southern accent, the comedic moments interspersed with the drama and tension, Armas' character trying to deal with the guilt and anxiety throughout the movie, everything

It was okay, not 'amazing' which you would expect if you believed the rotten tomatoes rating. Overall abit dissappointing, not very thrilling or exciting. The story rewards you if you pay attention so it's probably worth a second watch but it's abit long and dry. Some good acting, but the pace of the story made me sleepy. I just didn't care that much about any of the characters. I'd recommend watching it if you're bored and can't think of anything else you'd rather watch.

I'd heard this movie was "okay" but considering it pretty much copied from Agatha Christie I thought it could have the potential to be pretty good. Unfortunately Rian Johnson again proves he simply is not a very good maker of movies. Dull and predictable because the whodunnit was dumbed down to suit an audience that wants to be spoon-fed the answers. Not worth the bother but if you really must see it, save your money and watch it when it's free to air
