I cannot understand all the good reviews this has had. It is boring and depressing; a dull story with characters it's hard to care about. This is Hollywood being self-indulgent. Neither lead can sing or dance well. This, I would have thought, would be a prerequisite for a musical. The first two song & dance sequences were uninspiring, though the later ones were an improvement; the finale was quite good in terms of editing. Some of the jazz piano, etc., was good but otherwise there's only one catchy tune in the whole movie - and you'll be sick of hearing it by the end.

I don't normally watch such romantic films but I found this to be a lovely film. A nice happy story that does not feel 2 hours long it has some enjoyable songs and I even surprised myself and liked some of the dancing I have knocked off one star because It is not that original a storyline and I have enjoyed other musicals more But I would recomend this film overall

Self indulgent and over hyped. Emma stones amazing performace couldnt save this film from its story line. If you want to see what society would look like if only skinny perfect looking people existed then this is the film for you...
