For the Bélier their sixteen-year-old daughter Paula is a vital member of their eccentric clan. As the only non-deaf member of the family she acts as their ears and mouth allowing the townspeople to communicate with the often misunderstood Bélier.
One day this harmony is thrown into disarray when Paula discovers a raw and untapped gift for singing, and with the encouragement of her music professor decides to audition for the prestigious Maîtrise de Radio France music college in Paris. Superb. Very happy uplifting movie and hilarious at the same time. An absolute out of nowhere recommendation from a friend and I LOVED it. I'll pass it on to more........ You won't be disappointed.

Excellent little story. The meaning of family versus the meaning of purpose. Very touching.

A film that does not take itself too seriously but makes a serious point. Superb.
