About this movie

Teenage Sarah is left to babysit her baby brother Toby and he will not stop crying. So Sarah tries to put the baby to sleep by reading him a story. When she accidentally conjures up the Goblin King from the fantasy, he steals the baby and takes him to his castle, which is in the middle of a labyrinth. Now Sarah must solve the labyrinth by midnight, or Toby will be turned into a goblin.

Those that rate this movie highly are acting purely on nostalgia and not the actual merits of the film. It's such a slow and uninspired script that I struggle to remain awake. The dialog is cliche and the characters are weak. The writing portrays character decisions that are illogical and clearly being used only as a means to drive the poorly conceived plot. This movie has much more to offer visually than conceptually.

The movie is great, just not when served by Google servers. There is a constant ~1Hz flicker regardless of the player (cast from Play Movies to Chromecast Ultra, cast from YouTube, stream via Play Movies app on Samsung TV). No other content has this problem. I ended up refunding after a good half hour of troubleshooting.

GREAT movie, GREAT music (THANK YOU David Bowie!) and GREAT use of puppetry thanks to the brilliance of the late, great Muppet master himself, Jim Henson (*sigh* they don't make 'em like they used to ... 😞) One of my all-time favorites since I was a kid ... and it still is to this very day! I had such a HUGE crush on Jennifer Connelly when I first saw this, I actually wanted to marry her right then & there during that ballroom scene where she's wearing the white gown, lol 😁
